The Best Camera Is The One That’s With You.
Or so says Chase Jarvis. Its also a 3 part “ecosystem” created by the aforementioned photographer, comprising of an Iphone App, that contains a very funky set of filters you can apply directly to the image in-phone allowing users to create images they can then share with the wider web in the thriving online community made of images taken on iphones from around the World! There is also a book which I have not been able to check out yet…
The concept is simple. Sometimes you dont need all the fancy gear and expensive lenses to capture the perfect moment in time. It is incredibly easy to use the app to create really striking images which you can then share with Flickr, Facebook, thebestcamera.com or simply your friends via email. Any pictures added to the website are shown in a constantly changing loop on the front page, you can check out any image and see exactly what filters they used to create their mini masterpiece. And since everyone has the same starting point, its very interesting to see how they develop their style.
Below are some of my efforts, its pretty addictive! I’ve found myself snapping away with my iphone in situations I would normally have left until I had my “real” camera with me!
